Loved each and every part of this book. My expectations were extremely low going into this book, but I was pleasantly surprised. This one is both refreshing and dismaying. I have to roll my eyes a little bit, because…really ladies? Can we not just admit that we like to be promiscuous just as much as men do? Apparently we need to instead construct elaborate fantasy worlds with a heroine that not only likes to sleep around, but has to…for her health.

So you see, my hands are tied on this one! On the other hand, I love that Riley makes no apologies for her activities. Which brings me to… 2 She stands on her own two feet. Every time Quinn gets all controlling and possessive and judgmental with his prudish self-denial, Riley tells him to go eat shit and die. Oh Rhoan…how I love you. You are the cold blooded Guardian that Riley could never really become.

And, even though I think that the idea of an all-powerful law enforcement agency with homicidal agents that have carte blanche authority to spy on, stalk, and kill anyone they want is a seriously bad one, I will miss everyone over at the Directorate.

Especially you, Sal. Yes, I fell deep for the soul mate plot line. I started reading this series quite a while ago, and I had fun speculating about who it would be. I know who I really wanted see below , but it was not meant to be.

Whoops, I guess these are starting to get negative. Did we really need the whole side-tracking ritual murder mystery? That whole side story is just completely unnecessary. May you never lose your lusty ways. Sure, when you two first met, you were confused by your prejudice for guardians and werewolves. But then she went and barfed at your crime scene, and you began to suspect that she had…dare I say it?

A heart. There was plenty of flirting and back and forth going on until you let the bomb drop that your love was taken. How could that be, Cole? If I were your woman, you would have no other woman.

While she survived his death, she is deeply depressed and battling the emptiness of his loss. Because of the experimental drugs given to Riley in a previous book, she has developed the ability to speak with the souls of the recently deceased.

The soul gives her enough information to figure out this murder was motivated by revenge. As with all the other cases Riley works, she quickly gets the details she needs and solves the case. However, Blake Jenson is still seeking revenge. Blake has developed an elaborate plot to make Riley suffer from memory loss and adjust to a new life before he kills her. When she finds herself lost in a small town with a new identity, she somehow keeps being Riley…and being Riley means finding all trouble possible.

Luckily another murder case pops up and has so many similarities to the vengeance murders she was investigating, her memory is jogged. Over the past 8 books Riley Jenson has been through some serious stuff. She has been beaten a lot , shot even more , kidnapped, drugged, raped while drugged, genetically altered and forced to kill her own soul mate. She also happens to have a crazy lethal twin brother and the most bad-ass vamp boyfriend on Earth who can tear a small town apart.

She solved it with only like 2 gun shot wounds and a dead hooker! So seriously? This was the send off she got? Sigh…I guess it depends on how you look at it.

If you were sick of fate kicking the crap out of Riley, then maybe you were relieved that things finally got easy for her. But the reason I love Riley Jenson is how she always gets herself out of trouble on her own, without even relying on all the back-up she has available. She is one of the smartest, sexiest, most kick-ass heroines I have ever read, and I loved every minute of her journey up until this point.

But this book felt almost formulaic to me. I was really hoping for something even more over the top than the multi-species fighting ring from Tempting Evil which is my fav book in the series and has one of the most awesome climactic battles ever!

And I really did love the ending; it was nice to see Riley finally at peace with herself and her past. I loved these books. They are so much fun. And finally I will miss getting to read all about Australia, which made these books unique for me. Okay, gushing is complete. It feels weird to actually have closure from one of these series though. I'm a huge fan of all her books, especially this series. Riley Jensen is a kick-ass heroine. One I will miss Moon Sworn picks up a few months after the events from Bound to Shadows. And as much as I wanted to see Riley have her happy ending, which is more than deserves , I didn't want this se Moon Sworn is the 9th and last installment in the Riley Jensen series by Keri Arthur.

And as much as I wanted to see Riley have her happy ending, which is more than deserves , I didn't want this series to end. Riley still suffers deeply from the events of the last book. She hurts, and she knows how lucky she should be to have everyone who loves her, like she does.

But she can't help but feel pain. She's battling emptiness from her loss, and it's taking it's toll. Blake Jensen is seeking revenge on Riley.

Coming up with an elaborate plot to make Riley suffer from memory loss, while being dumped into a small town, where he plans on killing her. It's a lot to plan to kill someone, but I suppose it's hard to kill Riley. I guess I'd go through these lengths if I was to kill her as well. But being the most smartest, kick-ass heroine I've ever read, taking her memory away, and dumping her into a small town, is another day at the park I can honestly say, this book has less of a punch than her last 8 adventures, but it's just a good, if not better.

We get to learn fall in love with Riley and Quinn all over again. What's not to love? This book is a ride of emotions and an excellent finish to an amazing series. And although this is the last of Riley as a protagonist, it's not the end of her world. The spin-off series will center on Risa, and focus on the Aedh and demons. And we will see more Riley, Liander, Rhoan and Quinn!

I'm super excited to see what Ms. Arthur has in store for us! Mar 16, Kitt rated it really liked it Shelves: read , urban-fantasy , books-i-own. I have mixed emotions about this edition in the Riley Jenson series. I was pleased to see that the opposite was actually the case.

In the midst of another I have mixed emotions about this edition in the Riley Jenson series. In the midst of another case for the Directorate of vengeance killings made by a horned demon, Riley gets abducted and wakes without memory to a new life.

Moon Sworn is quite different from the last eight novels in this series. The whole novel had a different feel, and with the knowledge of this being the last edition to the series, made reading it all the more surreal. I desperately missed all of my favorites- Rhoane, Liander, Quinn, Jack, Sal and the rest of the gang. However, I will say that Ms.

I am so happy for them! I wonder if it will be a boy and a girl like Riley and Rhoan? Also, I still find that last statement weird. I think it's because Riley and Liander are not romantically or sexually involved so the sentence just seemed weird to me.

Twins definitely run in the mothers side since she now has two sets of twins. Quinn and Riley are moon sworn!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am so glad Blake is dead. I sincerely wish he had b Twins! I sincerely wish he had been horribly tortured first though Wait was that what the security guy was about?

I got a bit lost. What a great way to end a series. Well done Ms Arthur!! Sorry there will be Spoilers for previous books. Riley, having decided to live at the end of the last book, following killing her soul mate, the psychopath Kye, is having a little trouble getting back into the swing of things. Having finally gone back to work, Jack is trying to ease her in gently and sends her to a ritual killing.

Of course, nothing is simple with Riley. Trouble is playing with Fate and using silver bullets. So like always, the What a great way to end a series. All hell breaks loose, in a small town in the middle of the desert in WA Western Australia and it felt like the middle of nowhere as well, when another ritual killing happens right there in town.

With all the hallmarks of the original case. So memories start trickling down with the help of the local top cop, a werewolf named Harris. Loved this book, loved Quinn, loved the ending. Looking forward to reading the spinoff series about Dia's daughter Risa, who was the one who persuaded Riley to choose life in the last book. May 31, Angela M rated it it was amazing. I love this series.

It was one of my first paranormal series and I have stuck with it from the beginning - and loved every twist and turn it has taken. I'm so completely sad that it is over. I'm going to miss these characters like they were friends who've moved away. I'm just glad that the series ended while it was still strong and that Keri really let Riley and company go out with a bang! Such a great wrap up to this series. I love so many of the characters in this series. Riley is so strong, me I love this series.

Riley is so strong, mentally and physically. She's an amazing heroine. Her lovers have all been interesting and some have made emotions stir in me that were both good and bad. Her brother has been her rock throughout the whole series. Rhoan and Liander are great guys that you can't help but love and root for from the beginning to the end.

I don't want to give to much away, but I will just say, that after such a long journey with Riley, I was really hoping that she would get the happily ever after that she'd been dreaming of, and so deserved. But, as I learned right along with Riley, sometimes the happily ever after that we get is even better than the one we've dreamed of.
